So I think I've found my first stack of potential #ComparativeTitles.
While I'm delighted to discover as an #aspiringauthor I get to read romance novels as part of the #querying or #queryletter process. I've also realised that writing a book is a really, really long journey, like years long! Yes multiple years!
Patience is not my forte, although it's always been something I desired to one day acquire. So I guess now is as good a time as ever!
Another insight I've uncovered with all this #ComparativeTitlesAnalysis has been that in all my #romancereading, and let's be real, there has been A LOT! I've never sought out a book like the one I'm writing, probably because I'd find it triggering, but now I'm diving head first into any book with even an ounce of: 🔅#woundedhearthero
And ya know what? Now that I've 'therapeutically' written my own trauma out of me, I'm not one bit worried about reading something sad like my own story because that just means I'm not alone. My first seven potential comparative titles:
'Eat Pray Love' - Elizabeth Gilbert 2006 - Memoir
'If I Never Met You' - Mhairi Macfarlane 2020 - Contemporary Romance Comedy
'Sugar Daddy' - Lisa Kleypas 2007 - Romance series
'Mine To Hold' - Natasha Madison 2022 - Contemporary, Erotic Romance
'Mad About You' - Mhairi Macfarlane 2022 - Contemporary Romance Comedy
'Don't You Forget About Me' - Mhairi Macfarlane 2019 - Contemporary Romance Comedy
'It's Not Me It's You" - Mhairi Macfarlane 2014 - Contemporary Romance Comedy Here's a link here to a table that holds all my potential comparative titles.
